Hi I'm Joshua Derek Derbidge

I play the Saxophone and love to play Jazz music, and sing. I love Anime and Manga. I'm a triplet. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a very talented at the Saxophone and also love to sing. I have a very caring and excepting personality. When I see a person I know that is down or sad my immediate response is to help. No matter what trial I am going through I always put on a happy face, because there is probably someone that needs my light. I'm serving a mission in the Indianapolis Indiana mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it gives me so much happiness in my life. Throughout my life I have been so blessed as I have been faithful. This church has given me much needed direction in my life, and will give me more in the years to come. When is was 16 at EFY, an LDS youth camp, I realized that I had never really prayed for a confirmation of if this church was true. At that moment I got on my knees and I prayed to know whether this church was true. My answer wasn't answered immediately, in fact by the time we were at scripture study the next morning I had forgotten. That was when I received my confirmation that this church was true. I said a prayer that I would be guided were I needed to go in the scriptures, then shortly after I started reading a scripture in the Book of Mormon that put my mind at ease. Since then I have been able to grow stronger and stronger in the faith that makes me so happy.

How I live my faith

The way I live my faith right now is by sharing it with everyone. Right now as a missionary I have the opportunity to be able to share what I treasure and love with everyone I see. It is an amazing thing to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ to all nations. I get to meet with people and teach them, love them, and help bring them closer to our Savior Jesus Christ. As a missionary I am able to Go out and do service for different organizations. I've helped at several food pantry's, the Indiana Veterans Home, and lots of different people. I live my faith by looking at the attributes our Savior has and try to become more like him. I love this Gospel it has brought me closer and closer to my Savior every day.

Why are only some Mormons allowed into temples? Is there something secret going on in Mormon temples? What goes on in Mormon temples?

Joshua Derek Derbidge
The reason not all Mormons aren't able to go to the temple are three very simple answers. 1 they are simply not old enough to enter the temple, except under special circumstances like family sealing's. 2 they are not yet baptized. 3 they aren't living in harmony with the commandments of God. Nothing that goes on in the temple is a secret, they are sacred. The reason we don't talk about what happens in the temple is because it is sacred to us. In temples we receive personal revelation for us and the families we preside over. receive sacred ordinances like the sealing of husband and wife together with their families, and provide those sacred ordinances for our ancestors who have passed on.
