Hi I'm Alyssa

I'm from Utah. I love the mountains. I enjoy running and hiking. I love spending time with my family and friends. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the oldest of seven children in my family. I have amazing parents that I look up to very much. I live on a dairy farm, ran by my family. We spend a lot of time together doing crops and helping with chores. I love the mountains and take any chance I can to be in them. Some of my favorite activities include running, hiking, wakeboarding, and snowmobiling. But really I just love being outdoors and going on adventures with my family and friends. I play the piano and violin. I love helping loved ones with their problems and being there for them. I'm truly blessed with amazing family and close friends. I am attending college right now, but still indecisive about what to go into. I am preparing and excited for the opportunity I have to serve an LDS mission for 18 months. I'm so grateful for the relationship I have with my Heavenly Father, family and friends. And I'm so grateful to be a part of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of the joy that the gospel brings to my life! I love knowing that I can feel comfort, peace and happiness through the plan that my Heavenly Father has for me. I know that He loves each and every one of his children, and that His love is constant and unfailing. I have felt of this love many times in my life. I know that He is always there for us, as well as our Savior, Jesus Christ. I know that my Savior lives. He died for us and lived again. Because of the Atonement Christ knows exactly what we are going through. He has not only suffered for our sins, but He has suffered for all of our pains, and sorrows. He truly knows each and every one of us and will never leave us in times of need. I am eternally grateful for the Atonement. It blesses my life everyday. I know that the temple is a house of God. I know that the work we do inside is eternal and that we are greatly blessed from temple attendance. I know that through daily prayer and scripture study we will be able to withstand temptation and be protected from Satan. I know that Joseph Smith restored the gospel upon the earth, as well as translated the Book of Mormon. I know that he was a true prophet. I also know that our prophet today, Thomas S. Monson is a true prophet. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is true. I am so grateful for the gospel and the joy that it brings to my life. In the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by following the teachings of our Savior, Jesus Christ. I know that by following His example we can truly be happy and we will never be lead astray. He provided the perfect example for us and we, as Mormons, work towards having Christ like characteristics. I am always striving to strengthen my testimony of the gospel through prayer, scripture study, service, temple and church attendance. I love going to the temple because there I can truly feel peace and feel closer to my Heavenly Father. I also love the idea of being able to help others who can not perform those ordinances for themselves. While preparing to serve a mission I have worked even more towards having a prayer in my heart at all times. It helps me to feel closer to my Heavenly Father and to act in a way that He would want me to. I am excited to be able to share my testimony with others and help them become closer to our Heavenly Father.
