Hi I'm Dawson Joel Wiedrich

I am a basketball player. I am a musician (guitar, drums) I'm the second oldest of five children. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a large combination of interests. I love sports (football and basketball), music, movies, and pretty much most things nerdy. I'm the second oldest of five children and the second to serve as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I'm currently serving in the California Los Angeles Mission speaking Farsi (the language of Iran). My variety of music varies from country, pop, Americana, and different variations of rock and I can play the guitar and drum set. I have moved a total of 20 times in my life and as a result of this I have been to 4 different high schools, in 4 years, in 4 different states, which has allowed me to experience change and appreciate the great world in which I live.

Why I am a Mormon

I have read the Book of Mormon, I have been to historical places associated with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Nauvoo, Martin Handcart Trail) and through these I have developed my own personal testimony of this gospel and of Joseph Smith. When I did finish the Book of Mormon, I received personal revelation that gave me an absolute confirmation, that this is the true gospel on this earth and of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

My faith is not just a belief, it's a lifestyle. Everyday I strive to improve and I know that the only way to really do that is to rely on my Savior Jesus Christ. I'm a very imperfect person with plenty of weaknesses but I have witnessed the strengthening power of Jesus Christ in my life in a way I cannot ever deny. I'm currently serving as a missionary in the California Los Angeles Mission and I have the great blessing of seeing the Gospel bless those around me everyday.

What do Mormons believe about Jesus Christ? Do Mormons believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God?

Dawson Joel Wiedrich
We do believe that Jesus Christ was, and is the son of God and that he suffered for our sins so that we can live with our Heavenly Father again. He was the only perfect person that ever existed, and ever will exist which gives us an example of how we should try to live. And thanks to Christ's sacrifice, we are no longer required to be perfect to enter into the kingdom of heaven, but we are only asked that we try as hard as we can to be so, and to obey the commandments given to us by our Heavenly Father. We also believe that because of Jesus Christ's resurrection, that we can be resurrected with a perfected body. We also believe that through the atonement of Jesus Christ, that we can live with our families together forever. Show more Show less
