Hi I'm Tristan Spencer

I am graduating from high school in Texas, and I am just about to go on a two-year mission to Rome, Italy. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I believe that God has blessed me with a wonderful life and I I love living it to the fullest. I am just about to graduate from high school and I am super excited. Trying new things by participating in different sports, clubs, fine arts, etc. is something that I enjoy. I love doing multiple activities all at the same time. I currently sing in choir at my local high school, and I try to stay involved in multiple different service clubs that my school offers. I am about to graduate and will be serving a mission for my church beginning this summer. After my mission, I plan to attend Brigham Young University in the fall of 2017. At college I am not exactly sure what I want to study but I have a desire to possibly go into the medical field as a surgeon or go into the FBI. Also, I plan to do a lot of intramural sports with soccer, frisbee, racquetball, volleyball, and football. Dancing is something that I really enjoy doing as well, and I plan to take a few classes up at college once I get there (hip-hop and swing dancing especially). Something else that I really enjoy doing is working with kids. I have taught swim lessons for over a year now at my community pool, and I love figuring out how to teach specific kids. I think it's also really fulfilling to see a kid that you have taught for a long time begin to learn and understand what you are teaching them. It makes me incredibly happy, and I love my job because of that.

Why I am a Mormon

This church brings me immense happiness in my life. Something that we believe is that families are forever. This is really important to me because my family means the world to me. I have two little brothers and to think that I would not be able to see them, or my parents, after death gives me a lot of sadness, and so I am grateful to belong to a church that believes in life after death and that we will be able to live together for an eternity. Another reason why I am a Mormon is that the foundation of our church is built upon Jesus Christ. I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior, and that through him we are saved. He died for us, and because of this one day we will all be resurrected again and made perfect. Because of Jesus Christ I can repent and be made clean again whenever I make mistake and this makes me incredibly grateful for the sacrifice that my Elder Brother made for me because he loves me. I am also grateful for the Book of Mormon and know without a doubt that it is true. I have read it with an open mind and heart and afterward prayed to know if this book really was written by prophets of ancient times and that it was translated by Joseph Smith. My prayer was answered and I know that these things are true. I know that this church is true, and I love it with all of my heart.

How I live my faith

I try to stay very active in serving others in my church. I just recently got released as a second assistant in my priest quorum (a group of young men from ages 16-18). I feel that how I live my life and the things that I choose to participate in at school and other extracurricular activities show how I live my faith in my church. I always try to be an example to others. I know that the things that I do reflect my beliefs and so I uphold my standards and values.
