Hi I'm Garrett

I was born and raised in California. I help organize events and conferences for students to find who they are. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently enrolled in college, studying Business. I am an avid athlete, and I love playing whatever I can. I play basketball, soccer, and football, I run track and cross country, I love to snow ski, I am a freerunner and parkour traceur, and I am a third degree black belt in Sankai Kenpo Karate. I am a performer at heart, with dancing and being a musician, playing the drums, piano, and ukulele. I love being active, and participating in a wide variety of activities, also including the Boy Scouts, proudly getting my Eagle Scout award at 16.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into being a Mormon with my parents, but I have always been encouraged to find things out for myself. Throughout my life so far, I have made the choice myself and gotten my own testimony of the truth of the Mormon faith. Being a Mormon helps me to understand why I am here and where I am needed, and his own specific plan for me and what I can become.

How I live my faith

I participate in an organization called Leaders in Life in my county, and I am a 7 year veteran, 6 of which I spent on the Executive Committee. I actively participate in my ward at church, working with the bishop in young mens'. And now, I have been called as a missionary of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and I am excited to be able to share the message of this church with everyone who will listen.

What is the Book of Mormon?

Garrett
The Book of Mormon is another record of the dealings of ancient prophets with God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ. It was given to us as an additional witness to the works and life of Jesus Christ and His importance in the world. The events in the Book of Mormon occurred in the ancient Americas, and is a record of what was going on while the Jews were living in Jerusalem, while the events of the Bible took place. Contrary to occasional belief, the Book of Mormon is not a replacement Bible for Mormons, we use them both to compliment each other and add to the correct interpretation of the scriptures included. At the end of the Book of Mormon, the prophet Moroni finishes his words by giving a promise that those who read it sincerely with an open and desiring heart and sincerely pray about it can know by the confirmation of the Holy Ghost that is is true.
