Hi I'm Ashleah

Missionary in the Texas Houston South Mission

About Me

I was born and raised in Oregon and moved to Utah to go to college. I am the youngest of 5 children and an aunt of 9. I am currently studying Interior Design and Business. I am a lover of hiking, sports, being outdoors, cooking, camping, and animals. I will be serving as a full time missionary for the church on April 22nd, 2015 in the Texas Houston South Mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised LDS and continue to follow this gospel because of the strong spirit I feel at church and while reading The Book of Mormon. My testimony has grown over the years due to my consistent scripture study and search for answers. I know that the gospel of Jesus Christ was restored to earth today by the prophet Joseph Smith and that he translated The Book of Mormon from the words of ancient prophets. Accompanied with the Bible it is the word of God and our compass for this life. I know that any questions we have can be answered from its pages. I know with all of my heart that Thomas S. Monson, the prophet and president of this church is a man called of God. He receives revelation just like the prophets of old did from our Father in Heaven. We too can receive guidance and help from our Heavenly Father through faithful prayer. As we follow The Lord with humility, faith, and obedience, we can find true happiness and receive the love that he offers us.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by attending church every Sunday, praying daily and reading my scriptures.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Ashleah
No one is required to serve a mission. A mission is a voluntary act of service in sharing the gospel and being an official representative of Jesus Christ. Missionaries serve for 18 months to 2 years. They are called to different missions all around the world by The Church authorities and do not choose where they serve. They go for the purpose of spreading the teachings of Jesus Christ and are not paid for their service. Show more Show less
