Hi I'm Stan

I am a hearing instrument specialist. I have seven children; love the outdoors and backpacking.

About Me

Grew up in a large family; I am one of 10 children. Family is everything to me. I have 7 children and 18 grandchildren. I love outdoor activities. My favorite is backpacking. I also enjoy most sports, especially football. Recently I went diving in the Philippines. The country was beautiful and the people very friendly. I am very excited about the recent call my wife and I received to serve a full time mission in Mozambique.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the church. But I had to come to know for myself that this religion was the right path for me. I took the challenge seriously when I was about 16 years old. I read the Book of Mormon and as I read I felt on more than one occasion that it was true. It all made so much sense to me. I have never doubted since. There have been many questions that have come up that caused me to research and study; but I have always come away from such things with a testimony more firm and sure. The idea that we have a living prophet on the earth to guide us is so reassuring to me. And it follows the pattern in the scriptures. I also find great peace in knowing that Jesus Christ died for me and that as long as I keep trying He will continue to bless me. I know He is my Savior.

How I live my faith

I was asked to teach the youth in our church. I have taught several many age groups in the church, but this has been most rewarding. Teaching allows me the chance to do extra gospel and scripture study. I also worked with the addiction recovery program to help those with addiction problems. I have also helped my wife work on a trail near our home that we adopted to help fix up for the community. It has given us an opportunity to get to know others not of our faith. Everywhere I go I find wonderful people who love their families and want the best for them. We all share so much in common.
