Hi I'm Jim

I grew up on a small ranch in southern Utah. I have retired from ranching and being a computer repair tech. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in south east Utah on a family ranch. I helped on the ranch by driving tractor and riding horse at an early age. After graduating from BYU in animal science, I took over the family farm. My wife Loris and I raised 6 children, 3 boys, 3 girls. I have always been interested in the LDS church and have served in many ways. I served a mission in the Pittsburgh Pennsylvina mission during the nation's bi-centennial celebration. I will be serving in the Kirtland Ohio area for the next two years. My hobbies include long range shooting, hunting, fishing and wood working. I enjoy being with my children and grand children. I love my wife and enjoy being with her. We enjoy ATV's and Jeeping. We also enjoy cruising.

Why I am a Mormon

I know the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is true. I love the Lord and Savior. I know the Book of Mormon is true. I love serving others. Home teaching is an inspired program. I know our Father in Heaven lives and loves us. I also enjoy the Temple and Family history. The church is my life.

How I live my faith

Living in a small branch, I have had the chance to serve in many ways. My first calling was president of the Sunday school at age 16. I have had the chance to fill almost all callings in the branch since then. I enjoyed teaching children, youth and the adults. I have helped with the Boy Scouts. I served as branch president. I loved being a temple worker in the Monticello Utah Temple.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

As Branch President we are charged to help the poor and needy. I have helped people in our area that are not members of the church. We organized the community to help a single Mother upgrade her home. Show more Show less
