Hi I'm Ira

I grew up in a small town in central Utah. I worked in bank operations and IT for 42 years. I love my country and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am a hard working, honest, generally happy and optimistic person. I am easy to be around, have a sense of humor and am sensitive to others feelings. I consider myself a handyman and can do or figure out how to do most things necessary to get the job done. I enjoy the out of doors....camping, four wheeling, horse back riding, etc. I like to work in my yard and my garden. I think having a nice yard and garden tells something about an individual. I also have a nice home and like to keep it clean and organized on the inside. I enjoy animals and currently have a black lab dog and a white cat. My neighbors have horses, sheep and cows which I enjoy very much. I enjoy a country atmosphere but have worked in an urban setting all of my career. I like to travel on occasion, but like to be home as well. I like to read and learn new things. I try to involve myself in things that I think help me grow and stay active. My greatest joy is my immediate family. I have 7 children....... 4 daughters and 3 sons all married and seem to be happy and all trying to make something of their lives. I have 19 living grandchildren who are very special to me. My wife and eternal companion of nearly 42 years passed away in 2008. I have remarried in the past few months. My new wife also has 7 children. So we stay busy with keeping track of family.

Why I am a Mormon

The Church is a great source of comfort and direction to me. I believe in God the Eternal Father and in his son Jesus Christ and that we can gain a sure knowledge of them through the Holy Ghost. Our faith teaches from the Bible and other scriptures unique to the LDS faith. These scriptures testify to the validity and truthfulness of deity and provides principles we should live by. It teaches us that Jesus Christ our Savior is the head of our church. I love the plan of salvation that is taught by our church. It gives us a road map of how we should live and what we need to do to get back to his presence after we leave this earth. It teaches us that our Heavenly Father and our Savior loves each and everyone of us unconditionally and how important each of us are to them. I love the emphasis of family taught by our church. It teaches how important the family is and how we should treat one another and how necessary the family is to reach our maximum potential throughout the eternities.

How I live my faith

I am an active member of the LDS Church. I am currently a scout leader of 11 year old boys. This is a great calling. They are great young men and it keeps me thinking young. I attend church on a regular basis. I have had many calling over the years in our church including Sunday School Teacher, Priesthood Quorum Leader, Financial Clerk, Scoutmaster, Senior Family Home Evening Committee member, Financial Management Teacher, Temple worker, etc.
