Hi I'm Dennis Lay

I was born in Montana and have lived my entire life here. I have work as a land surveyor for the last 50 years. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I have grown up in the mountains and have camped, hiked, hunted and fished most all of my life. I love the outdoors and enjoy alone time in the mountains. I have been married for 47 years and have 4 sons, 2 daughters, and 29 grand children. I am now retired after a long career as a licensed land surveyor. It is very enjoyable to help people meet their needs and goals for their lands. I love baseball and have coached little league for many years and have enjoyed watching my boys play from little league through college.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon for many reasons, but the principal reason is because the Spirit of the Lord has witnessed to me of the truthfulness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I have read the Book of Mormon many times along with the Bible and have found in them the truth and teaching which if followed will lead us back to the Kingdom of God. As you study the teaching of Jesus Christ and live them more and more happiness and peace comes into our lives. As you read and study each time you will find greater understanding of the teachings of Jesus Christ. The Lord gives to us personal revelation when we read, study, pray and seek to understand. The Lord has told us if we will seek to know his word with a sincere heart and with real intent he will bless us that we will know and understand his word and his will for us and our families. The greatest happiness that can be found on this earth will come by living the teachings found in the Bible and the Book of Mormon. The Lord wants us to be happy. He as taught us that "Man is that he might have joy" and I witness to you that true joy and happiness comes from living the Teachings of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I have loved teaching the young people over my many years in the church. Teaching youth Sunday school is a very special experience. The youth are very knowledgeable and always lots of fun. I have found over the years that living by the standards that God has outline for us is the surest way to have a happy and fulfilled life. Keeping family close and serving others bring great joy and peace to the soul. Kindness and civility are virtues that seem at times to be in short supply, so trying to make these virtues part of my life has proven very meaningful. Many things bring us fleeting moments of pleasure and enjoyment, but is service to our family, our friends, and even strangers that give lasting joy and happiness. Remembering the Lord at all times in our lives brings peace to our hearts and meaning to our lives.
