Hi I'm JeNae T. Lay

I loved growing up in Montana. I married, and have spent my life as a busy, happy, wife, mom, and grandma. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I have been married to my high school sweetheart for 47 fabulous, fun-filled years. We are the parents of 4 sons and 2 daughters, all of whom married wonderful sweethearts of their own. Soon we will add 2 more grandchildren, making a grand total of 31. Most of my life has been spent with little children, in my family and a profession in childcare and preschool. I also love to read and write stories and poetry, sew and be otherwise creative. My family is my focus, & my greatest joy.

Why I am a Mormon

Five generations ago, my ancestors joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Fortunately for me, down through the years, each generation has remained very close to the Church. I grew up in a large Mormon family, and saw the love and happiness that comes from living the principles taught to me in this Church. My husband and I have reared our family according to these same gospel principles, and have found that same peace and love.

How I live my faith

My experience with children extends to serving in the Church children’s organization for many years, teaching ages 3 through 12. I’ve also worked with older kids, taught many specialized classes in the women’s organization, and served in leadership positions. I organized a childcare provider support group in my community and was involved in the State organization as well. I also served as a facilitator for a bariatric surgery support group for a number of years. Service to my family, my church, and my community enables me to better live my faith.
