Hi I'm Benjamin Healey

I was born and raised in Sacramento, CA. I enjoy hanging out with family and friends, math and physics, and dancing. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently preparing to serve my mission in Mendoza, Argentina, and I am very excited to go on this adventure. I know that it will be a very fulfilling and educational experience, spiritually, mentally, and physically. After my mission, I plan to study math and physics at UC Berkeley. I hold family very dear to my heart, and I one day plan to start my own family with my eternal companion.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the Mormon faith, but I remain a member today because of my witness of its truth and light. I have read the Book of Mormon, and I find it to be a truly inspired work of God. I know that living the church's standards is the best way to live, and I know that Heavenly Father rewards those that follow him in faith. A particular point I love about this gospel is the fact that it is the opposite of a brain-washing church. From the very beginning, even as a little child, our members are taught the gospel. This plants the ideas and elements of the gospel in our minds and allows us to truly think about whether or not what we believe is true when we're older. As we attend church, our teachers explain that they know that the church is true, but it is almost always followed with something to the effect of, "But don't take my word for it. Find out for yourself that this church is true." We are given every opportunity to find out for ourselves if the church is true. We are encouraged to ask questions and wonder about the principles that Christ taught and about the Book of Mormon. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints promotes spiritual investigation and not mental wiping. We are asked to think and pray deeply concerning the things of our souls and of Heavenly Father.

How I live my faith

I do my best to be an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I am currently serving as a primary teacher for the 8 year old class. It can be challenging at times, but it's an ultimately rewarding experience. I try to look for opportunities to help the members of my ward whenever I can. I regularly go hometeaching with my bishop. I have seen the benefits of living within the church and I have witnessed the blessings that arise from following Christ's Gospel.
