Hi I'm Andrew

I'm a Mormon, Quarterback, and a prospective missionary. However I am first and foremost a son of my Heavenly Father.

About Me

I'm 18 years old. I am the 4th of 5 children in my family (3 boys and 1 girl). I have had many jobs: custodial assistant, line server at Cafe Zupas, window washer, aerator, and now a captioning assistant at Caption Call. I love my family so much and hope to have my own one day. Throughout High School, I have been involved in A.P. history and math classes. I'm the public relations in Mathematics, Engineering, and Science Achievements Club. Also, I was the varsity quarterback for my High School team, and have a passion for the sport. I have also played other sports such as soccer, basketball, and track.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have experienced the joy it brings me, received answers to questions about life, and want to always feel these feelings. As I have grown up, the gospel has always been a part of my life. For the beginning part of my life, I went to church because that is what my parents expected of me, however, as I have studied the gospel for myself and prayed to know if it is true, I have come to know that the it is. I go to church no longer because of a requiremnt but because I want to grow spiritually, and learn more about how to become more like my savior. I know that Jesus Christ suffered and died for me so that I can be forgiven of my sins, and continue to progress. As we take full advantage of this sacrifice, known as the Atonement, we will better be able to deal with the trials and hardships of life. I know that through the Atonement I will be resurrected one day. I have had many friends and family die throughout my life, and it has been very sad. Thankfully, I have a testimony of the resurrection, and I know that because Christ died and was resurrected, those friends and family members who I have lost will be resurrected too. I know that I will see them one day. Last, I know that through the power of the Priesthood and temples, I am sealed to my family, and will be sealed to my future wife and kids for not just time, but eternity also. This means so much to me because of the love I have for them. I know that through righteous living, all of God's children have the ability to be sealed to their families as well.

How I live my faith

I live my faith in many ways. First, I go home teaching. I visit those families that have been assigned to my companion and me, where we discern their needs and wants, then help them in any way we can. We also help them spiritually grow by sharing a message. Next, I am called as one of the organist in church. I practice so that I can be prepared to play when I'm assigned or if the need arises. Last, I am preparing to serve a mission. I have been called to serve in the Maryland Baltimore Spanish Speaking Mission. I report to the Mexico City MTC on August 12, 2015.
