Hi I'm Penny

I enjoy teaching, cooking, and sewing. I love being outdoors. I love working in my garden and visiting my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoy cooking, sewing, gardening, and music. I enjoyed being a substitute teacher and teaching piano while I was a stay-at-home mom. I enjoy being outdoors-taking walks and enjoying wildlife. At Christmas I like making cinnamon rolls to take to people in my neighborhood. I enjoy baking and decorating cakes for people.

Why I am a Mormon

As I grew up, I was very close to my Grandmother. She and Grandfather lived with us for 8 years until she died when I was 15. I had a hard time accepting that I would never see her again. When I was backpacking in the Sierra Nevada Mountains, I would sit by a stream and feel that she was near me. When a friend shared the gospel with me, it felt right. Looking back, I realize I was looking for a church that made sense to me. Learning about families being eternal totally matched my personal beliefs. I am grateful that I will be together forever with my family and all generations of my family.

How I live my faith

I enjoy serving in my ward by playing the organ. I have never had organ lessons, but play the piano. I also enjoy singing in the choir. I enjoyed serving at LDS Employment and teaching the Career Workshop, where we helped people identify their skills and how to match their skills to what employers need. I enjoy being in the nursery and working with children and the youth. I like to smile at people when I am around them.
