Hi I'm Dallen

I grew up in Utah and I love playing all sports. I am serving in the Ecuador Guayaquil South Mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Dallen, I am 18 years old. I am currently enrolled at Dixie State University and I absolutely love!. I have been involved in sports my whole life, and continue to play with friends and through intramurals, which is the best thing colleges have created. I am a huge golfer, I played on my high school team all four years and it is definitely one of my favorite things to do. I am also really big into football and basketball. I love playing quarterback, mostly because I love throwing sixty yard bombs down field, and I live outside the 3-point line on the basketball court. Traveling is something I enjoy doing, I've never been outside of the country, but I would love to get the chance to travel to many countries someday. I will actually be going to Ecuador in the summer since I was recently called to serve in the Ecuador Guayaquil South Mission. I am super pumped to go and spread the gospel to the people of Ecuador. I love spending time with my family, and I am so thrilled that our families can be together forever because I do not know where I would be without them!

Why I am a Mormon

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the true church on the Earth today. I look forward to attending church every week so that I can partake of the sacrament and renew my covenants that I have made. One of the best habits that I have made over my lifetime is reading my scriptures and praying daily. Praying to know if this church is true is how I came to know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is true. There is so much power in the Book of Mormon and I absolutely love reading it every morning. The prophets and the scriptures itself testify that by reading the Book of Mormon, we can gain spiritual strength and receive comfort and peace in our lives. By reading it myself, I can also testify that this is true. Service is another thing that I highly value in my life. I grew up with loving parents who taught me the importance of serving others. When you take the time to serve others, you are actually serving God as well. I do my best to live according to the doctrines and principles of the Church. I strive to always keep the commandments and be obedient to God, my parents, and other higher authorities. We all make mistakes in our lives, and that is okay, we are not expected to be perfect. Although, we are expected to try and do the best we can in all things. Since we all make mistakes, I can truly testify of the Atonement and the power that it has in our lives. Our Savior, Jesus Christ, willingly performed the Atonement so that we all could have the chance to repent and be forgiven of our sins and be resurrected. I have been able to use the Atonement many times in my life and I have seen the effects of it in my life. Our Heavenly Father loves each and every single one of us and wants nothing more than for us to return to live with Him again in Heaven. I am so grateful for the opportunity I will have to go and teach this Gospel to the people of Ecuador and help them come to know the love our Father has for us.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by actively going to church every Sunday and by always striving to be the best example that I can be. I read my scriptures and pray to my Heavenly Father every night. I am an Eagle Scout and love to serve others in my community, as well as serve my family members. I am currently a ward missionary in my Young Student Adult ward, which is where I go visit less active members and invite them to come back to church. It is a great opportunity to help others realize that church is such an important thing in their lives and that it affects us when we do not go or if we are not living according to the standards of the church. I do love this church so much, and I hope that I will be able to instill these same thoughts and feelings in my children so that they may have the same joy and happiness that I have experienced.
