Hi I'm Angelina

I'm an energetic college student, a convert, and an aspiring writer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in the beautiful country of Ukraine. At age six, I moved to the United States with my family and have lived here ever since. I will soon be attending BYU-Idaho to study Journalism. I love writing, swimming, outdoor activities, meeting new people, event planning, and going on new adventures with my friends and family. I strive to be upbeat and optimistic in all situations, and love to be around those who make me laugh!

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised an Orthodox Christian. Although my family rarely attended church, I knew that God existed. When I was 17 years old, I felt my life had a missing piece. I couldn't figure out why I was unhappy and felt such lack of purpose. It was at this time that I began to read the Bible and learn more about the religion I was baptized into. I began praying and reading the bible often, seeking for answers and something that would fill the missing gap inside of me. Two years passed, and nothing had changed. I was frustrated and confused. One day, I shared how I felt with a new friend I had met. We spoke about our beliefs and I learned he was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He shared his testimony with me, and strongly suggested I read James 1:5. My life began to change from that day forth. Just a few weeks later, after praying for an answer and beginning to read the Book Of Mormon, I found myself believing in all I was learning. I will never forget the first day I met with the missionaries in the Visitor's center, where we watched "Meet the Mormons" with members who later shared their testimonies. That night was the first moment I had truly come to know that the church was true. I didn't realize it then, but I was feeling the spirit. It was the most powerful feeling I had ever felt. As I started receiving lessons from the missionaries, I found my faith growing stronger each day. On February 21st, 2015 I was baptized a member of the Church. The day after, I received the Gift of the Holy Ghost. Those two days will forever be sacred and special to me. I am a Mormon because I know that I am a child of Heavenly Father and that his Son, Jesus Christ, is my savior and redeemer. He is my source of happiness and peace. I know that Heavenly Father answers all of his children, and my life is forever changed because he answered me. I am grateful to be apart of God's eternal family, and I am forever grateful to be a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by following the example that Jesus Christ has before us. I am thankful that one of the ways I am able to do this is by attending church each Sunday in my incredible Young Single Adult Ward. Through scripture study and prayer, I am also able to seek guidance from Heavenly Father and receive answers that help me live my faith confidently. I live my life trusting that my faith in the Gospel of Jesus Christ will carry me through tough decisions, trials, and moments of confusion. I strive to remember his patience, love, humility, kindness, and so many of the attributes our perfect Savior had. Although I am not perfect like him, he is surely the perfect example for me.
