Hi I'm Andrew

I grew up in Las Vegas, Nevada. I love sports and the outdoors. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently a Senior in high school with intentions to go on a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in a couple of months. Afterward, I'm going to attend BYU Provo to further my education. I love to hike, swim, eat, listen to music, hang out with friends and play volleyball. I've played all through high school and have really learned to love the sport.

Why I am a Mormon

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints focuses on a firm, family foundation. I was born and raised in the church by two friends who love me and support me. My sisters and I are happy and have amazing memories. My parents have taught by the principals of the Mormon church and I can tell you that it works. Being a member of this church is honestly the one thing I have never had to reconsider. It has done nothing to me but bring me happiness. At times I find myself depressed or discouraged, everyone does. However, reading the scriptures, saying my prayers, remaining faithful has helped me out of my rut 100% of the time. In the Mormon church believes in what is called the Word of Wisdom, which is abstaining from alcohol, illegal drugs, coffee, tea, and smoking. Friends from school criticize my friends and I from avoiding parties that have such substances and wonder why I am so stubborn in keeping the rules of my church. The Word of Wisdom has kept me healthy and strong, and my body has been blessed by keeping it. I will continue to follow the Gospel of Jesus Christ because it makes me happy. Like my parents had, I will raise my children following the gospel, loving them and raising them with patience.

How I live my faith

I am totally active in my church, and I love serving others, helping them with their yard, moving to another home, or just visiting with them. Two of my friends and I are head of the youth of our age and constantly see what we can do to build them up and be their friend, with an ultimate goal to bring them closer to God. Every Sunday morning before church, us three and our two leaders find ways to help our young men feel loved and appreciated. We plan activities every Wednesday to strengthen our relationship with them and it is awesome seeing them grow. After church I participate in an hour long missionary preparation class in order to be ready for my mission. It is a great class taught by two wise men and I am surrounded by my friends, creating a wonderful environment to be in.
