Hi I'm Emma

I grew up in a small town in northern California. I love sleeping, laughing, and being outdoors. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the youngest of six kids. Everyone always thinks the youngest kid is the most spoiled but I can tell you from experience that is not true! But I still think I have the best parents in the world! I love to read, fish, swim, play soccer, and sleep. I am a terrible decision maker! I graduated from high school and spent two years at a junior college trying to figure out what to major in. I am now serving a mission in Chicago Illinois :)

Why I am a Mormon

When I was little, I always did what I was told and went to church, read my scriptures, and served in church callings. But, it hasn't always been so easy. I have learned through experience that when we live the commandments of God and repent of our sins, we become worthy to feel of His spirit, which brings a peace that nothing else can replicate. I know the the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the true church of God because the Holy Ghost has confirmed it to me. I know it is the only church that has the authority from God to perform his ordinances on this earth. That's why I'm a Mormon. I know that living the commandments of God will bring the greatest peace and the most happiness into my life. I'm not anywhere near perfect, and I don't know everything, but the more I learn the more I feel that this really is God's true church.

How I live my faith

I grew up in the LDS church and so I knew from a young age that going to church was what you do on Sundays. But living your faith is an action phrase. Going to church doesn't matter unless you make it count by striving to learn, to worship God, feel His spirit, support others, and better yourself. I live my faith every day by praying, reading the scriptures, listening to the words of the prophets, and by doing my best to keep my thoughts, words, and actions worthy of God's approval. I try to be kind and to love everyone I meet, even though sometimes that is really hard to do! But I love God and show my love to him by loving his children.

What do Mormons believe about family?

Families... how do you describe them? Families are a gift from God to us to help us learn in this lifetime. Think about your family and just try to describe how they make you feel in 1 word... it's hard to do! Families help us learn how to love, and sometimes how to hate. They help encourage us and teach us how to be independent. They are the source of some of our greatest memories and also some of our worst. I love my family with all my heart!!! But that doesn't mean I have to like them 24/7 ;) My family has helped me grow in every way, shape and form and I am so extremely grateful for them! We believe that just as Jesus Christ was resurrected, so we too will be resurrected and have the opportunity to live with God again and our families again if we follow the teachings of Jesus Christ. How great a gift is that! Show more Show less
