Hi I'm Shari Reaser

I'm a native Californian. I am a family history consultant, and served a mission for my church, in Florida. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I don't do it much, right now, but I want to learn, and get into, painting more; especially oils and watercolors. Ever since I was a little girl I've had this dream of having a gallery of my own someday, and I still have that goal. I feel Heavenly Father blessed me with artistic talent; As a child I drew on anything and everything! Also, I love genealogy... I can spend hours doing it. To me it's like I don't want to give up until I find what I'm looking for, and genealogy can be very addictive. I'm also very into nutrition/natural foods; It really fascinates me what natural foods can do for us how powerful, and healing, natural foods and herbs etc... actually are! It makes me realize even more how smart Heavenly Father is and that he planned for EVERY contingency!

Why I am a Mormon

Because I know it is Christ's true church upon the earth at this time. Because early in my mission, maybe no more than two weeks after I got to Florida, I realized that I needed to know for sure that Joseph Smith is a prophet of God. So I prayed and prayed and I got that assurance, from the holy spirit, that Joseph Smith is a prophet of God, and that meant that the Book of Mormon is true and that the church Christ organized, through Joseph Smith is true! It is Christ's true and living church with apostles, prophets, teachers etc... like he had anciently. It is a living church because the priesthood has been restored and receives revelation to lead and guide the church. I am a member because when I listen to the General Conference talks the Holy Spirit bares witness to me that what they are saying is true! I have received countless blessings over the years being a member of this church. One of the greatest blessings is knowing that I can be with my parents, especially my mother because I was closer to her, who have passed on, in an eternal family unit... We were sealed in the Los Angeles California Temple in 1969. Basically growing up in the church, my parents joined when I was about 6 years old, I had always been taught and believed in our doctrine of eternal family units but it wasn't until losing my parents that it has become a cherished comfort and knowledge that if I do my part, relying upon and applying the atonement of Christ, I will be with them again! We aren't perfect but we are here to help each other. I know these things are true and this is Why I am a Mormon!

How I live my faith

I attend church, and am always glad I've gone. I feed the missionaries and enjoy their spirit. I listen to General Conference. I try to share the gospel/talk to people when I feel prompted by the spirit of the lord to do so. I attend a church focus support group for people who have relatives with addictions, which my Bishop recommended to me. I pray over my meals. I pray over stressful situations and troubles and when I'm thankful. I've thought more about what, I think it was what Elder Uchdorf said, that every one of us is a VIP to our Heavenly Father. Thinking of people in that light can really make you see things differently.
