Hi I'm Eakalak Oobkham

I live in Bangkok Thailand. I have been a member in this Gospel for a little over a year now. I am Thai, and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I was born in Thailand and I have been a Buddhist for the most of my life but one day I meet the missionaries here in Thailand. They began teaching me and I found the truth in this Gospel. I am so grateful that I was able to meet the missionaries and they were able to teach me in my native Thai Language. I love to cook Thai food and American food also. I am a chef at a restaurant here in Bangkok. I like to lift weights and exercise. I know that God gave me my body to use so I use it in the best ways that I can to show my love to my God. When I have free time I love to read in my Book of Mormon. I play the guitar and other Thai instruments.

Why I am a Mormon

In the past I have had my share of difficulties and obstacles, but I have found that this Gospel has helped me in everything. I know that through the problems that I was facing God was preparing me for something, something great. He was preparing me to come and find this path, His path. Before I was a Mormon I was Buddhist. One day as I was walking down the street as I was thinking about my life and why I was here I meet two white guys wearing white shirts and a name badge. At first I was confused at who they were and why they were asking me if I wanted to wash away my sins. When they asked me this I thought about my life even more, why I was here and what I was supposed to do. I agreed to meet with them on another day and learn from them. As they taught I learned why I was here and what my purpose was. This is the reason that made me know that God is real and that He is really there. I felt His presence and his influence in my life. I was baptized and my life changed. Since that day I have had a change in my life and everything has gotten better. I still face problems but now I know that there is a God that is helping me through all of them. He is always there and He will always answer our prayers. I know that He lives, that He loves each of us so much. That He will never leave us but will be by us always. I know that through Gods mercy we are able to receive a remission of our sins. I am so thankful for the missionaries that meet me on the street and helped me find my God and your God also. This Gospel is the true Gospel and that it can change our lives of we let it. I love my God, I love the scriptures, I am Thai, and I'm a Mormon!

How I live my faith

I am the Ward Clerk here in the branch by my home in Bangkok. I try to fulfill my calling to my best abilities. I like to teach those people around everyday whether if they are members are investigators. I just want to share the things that I have received in my life to others to help them have a better life in return. I try to have a good influence on the people around me through my example. I share the Gospel with my friends and bring to the church and introduce them to the missionaries. I know that everybody has a place in Gods family so I try to bring everybody back to Him.
