Hi I'm Dalila

I'm grew up in Florida and Colombia. I study at BYU. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Both my parents are converts. My Mom grew up in Chile and my dad in Colombia. They were both introduced to the gospel in their teenage years, and wouldn't meet each other until years later in a YSA ward in south Florida. Their example has been absolutely pivotal in my own conversion. Despite having grown up in the church, I can testify of the absolute need to gain your own testimony, and not your parents. I have been called to serve in the Brazil Teresina mission, and I can firmly say it was my own decision born from my own desire and knowledge of what I believe is true. I am extremely excited!! I study at BYU, applying to be a Studio Arts major, and I enjoy drawing, singing, reading, and playing basketball when I can. I absolutely love music and pretty things. :)

Why I am a Mormon

Since my own personal conversion, I can whole heartedly say I've become a better, more productive, and happier individual because of this gospel. The only way you can know if what I say and what the so many others on this website seem to claim, is actually true, is to try it for yourself. Read the Book of Mormon from cover to cover. Read it. Ponder it. And then get on your knees and ask with the most sincerity and hope and love that you can muster as you address God, your Heavenly Father, if these things are true. It takes a step of faith, and no one can tell you what to believe. That's something only you can decide. But I know with a certainty that wasn't easy to achieve-- that this gospel is real, true, and it brings me a perspective and real happiness and comfort that nothing else provides.

How I live my faith

I have been called to serve as a missionary in the Brazil Teresina mission. Words cannot express how excited I am for this opportunity. It is by no means a vacation or a place for me to pose for pretty pictures as I build a house for some kids. For 18 months of my life, it is 24-hour devoted service to the Lord and spreading His gospel. That means I live, breath, and work in studying and teaching the one thing that I fully believe can help improve this world: Jesus Christ's gospel. I know that it works on the most personal basis possible. People can change and feel what real joy is.. This work is real work, and all you ever think about as a missionary is other people and how to help them. I'm excited for that. I'm excited to be better, and to help others further their potential as well.
