Hi I'm Sarah Scott

I'm a die hard adventurer. I'm an avid hiker. I'm a full-time missionary. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born into an amazing family where we experience so much joy together! I am the third of eight children, and definitely call them my best friends, my dog Bandit included. I am currently serving my Heavenly Father in the California Ventura Mission Spanish speaking. I attended one year of university before I left, where I was studying nutrition. I want to someday help educate others to live healthier lifestyles and find more joy in their lives based on making good decisions. I love being active and going hiking, running, camping, and fishing, especially with my family. I can't think of a greater thrill or a better place than being on the top of a mountain I just conquered! I also love taking pictures of God's beautiful creations. I love baking and cooking food from all around the world. My favorite foods to make are Indian curries and authentic breads.

Why I am a Mormon

I absolutely love being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints. It is such a blessing to be able to wake up everyday and know that I am loved by an incredible Heavenly Father. I am so grateful for Jesus Christ and his infinite Atonement. It is so amazing that we have an older brother who cared so much for us that he would die for our sins and our weaknesses. I know that God is aware of all of our needs and desires, and if we live how he has asked us to, we will see the eternal rewards fill our lives immensely. Following the Gospel of Jesus Christ is the only true way to consistent joy and a brightness in our lives. It takes work, but work well worth it.

How I live my faith

My last calling before leaving on my mission was being a primary teacher for the four year old children in my home ward. It was an amazing experience, stepping back from the adult world and seeing how simple a child believes. Jesus Christ stated in the book of Moroni how children are perfect and that each of us should base ourselves on them. I have learned so much from choosing to live a more "child-like" life in this Gospel and see that the small and simple things in the Gospel are the most important things to have in order for a happy and successful life. I know that as I continue to make the small and simple things count in my life, every day, that Heavenly Father will bless me.

What is the difference between attending a church and attending a temple?

Sarah Scott
The biggest difference between attending church and attending the temple is that the temple is the house of the Lord, whereas a church is the place where we can learn from each other and the Spirit, and prepare to enter His house. I really and truly believe that attending church every Sunday with an open mind and a sincere heart will prepare us to be worthy to enter in at the Lord's house. Being able to go to the temple has blessed me so much in my life because I know that the sacred covenants, or promises, that I make with God will keep me on the right path, and fill my life with so many wonderful and miraculous blessings.
