Hi I'm Sarah

I was born in California. I grew up in Oklahoma. I am a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Sarah and I am preparing to leave for the Salt Lake City East Mission! When I return I plan to attend Oklahoma State University (I have already been accepted) to study Zoology. I love animals, reading, video games, and Marvel movies.

Why I am a Mormon

I first came into contact with the church through my adopted grandparents. After the divorce of my parents my mother and I moved from California to Oklahoma to stay with them and we started attending church with them. The people in my ward quickly became like family to me and with the help of the LDS church and its members I gained a better understanding of the Lord and His mercy. The testimony that began when I was 10 years old has grown and continues to grow and the strength that I have derived from it has seen me through adversities great and small.

How I live my faith

I was baptized when I was 10 years old and my first calling was as the youth leader for the 14-16 y/o young women class. During my time as a leader in this age group we focused primarily on aiding those who needed it with a particular attentiveness being given to the elder members of our community. My second calling was the position of youth leader for the 16-18 y/o young women class. My time spent in this age group was mostly dedicated to reaching out to other young ladies in our area, especially those who came from troubled homes. My personal experience with divorce, abuse, and a difficult family life gave me a unique insight into these situations allowing me to counsel with others who gone through similar ordeals. My third calling was as the teacher for the 12-14 y/o young women class where I focus on teaching the youth in my class about the teachings of Christ and his disciples.

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

Have you ever seen a sunrise? How about a flower in bloom? A cheetah running? All of these events bear witness to me of the existence of a benevolent Creator. One who designed a paradise and entrusted it to His children for safekeeping. Everything from the creatures that crawl on the earth to the stars in the sky work together in perfect harmony. A harmony that only A Supreme Creator could bring about. Show more Show less
