Hi I'm Don

I love my family, sports, the outdoors, and music. I put phoosball on hold to serve a mission in Kyiv Ukraine. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a missionary called to serve in Kyiv Ukraine. I am the oldest of seven children, 4 bros and 2 sisters and have a close relationship with each of them. I love the outdoors and the beach is my favorite place because I love the sun, surfing, beach volleyball, and just playing in the water. I've always been way into sports and love to try new things. I played on the volleyball team and Rugby team, but have also enjoyed being on the cross country, wrestling, Pole-vaulting, and Water polo teams as well. I go ham singing with friends and family and love to swing dance. In my free time, I like to play foose-ball and pingpong, or invent games to play with my brothers and sisters. I love to climb, go cliff jumping, and do anything active. I will attend BYU to study business and law.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I love it. I was raised in the church by parents who were also raised in the church. I grew up hearing the Book of Mormon stories and listening to the General Authorities during General Conference. I love the comfort the gospel brings, and the perspective it gives. During our trials, to know exactly why we are experiencing them, and knowing that someone has felt that exact pain is comforting. The gospel tells us that we aren't expected to be perfect. We should try our best but we will slip up, and when we do, Christ's atonement is there to catch us and pick us up. Believing in this gives me motivation to be a better me, and to not feel too discouraged when I mess up. Also, the church provides an immense support system that builds one another up. They are all striving toward a common goal. Being surrounded by such spiritual and successful individuals gives me good role models. I am a Mormon because it makes me the best me and makes me the happiest me too.

How I live my faith

I am a missionary! I literally live my faith 24/7 in the beautiful Ukraine Kyiv mission. I wake up at 6:30 every morning and work as hard as I can to build up God's kingdom and invite others to come unto Christ until 10:30 at night. I'm trying my best to learn Russian, a ridiculously difficult language, so that I can be as effective as possible. I love this life and I love the feeling I get from spending all day every day in the service of my fellow man and of my God. There is no greater feeling than strengthening your own testimony as you go around helping others build a testimony and seeing the light of the gospel appear in their eyes when they finally exercise their faith.
