Hi I'm Dennis Harston

I am a Mormon physician--a family physician. My roots are in the western United States, but I have lived in many places.

About Me

I am a family physician, and practiced in rural Utah for several years. I have spent time in Argentina, Guam, Montana, and Utah. Most recently I have been involved in administrative medicine, heading up medical services for several insurance companies. I am a father to six, grandfather to 20, and husband to one. I enjoy music and theater, art and creativity. I love the mountains with their solitude and beauty. I love the simplicity of the gospel of Jesus Christ and wish to share that. I hope to serve a church medical mission with my wife to Mexico City.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because the principles of this church are simple and bring me peace. I love peace. I seek peace. I am at peace with church music, with church teachings, and with my efforts to contribute. I see others with worries and troubles also find peace through activities and participation in the Mormon Church. It makes us good, it makes us better. It provides a pathway to return to be with our Father in Heaven. It is a way to families to be together forever. It brings me peace.

How I live my faith

I enjoy learning about the truths of the gospel. I learn from serving others, teaching, and reaching out to those with questions or uncertainty. I enjoy singing wonderful music in church choirs. A favorite church assignment was working along with my wife with adolescent girls in a training facility who were struggling with how to manage in today's society. And I enjoyed working with the single older sisters and brothers in our neighborhood for several years, helping them to enjoy activities with one another. Teaching Sunday School is always an assignment I enjoy.
