Hi I'm Marianne

I am hopeful, optimistic, persistent, and no different from anyone in this world because we can all achieve the same thing. (;

About Me

I go to college and am studying medicine. I hope to have a career in the surgical field one day. I love photography, drawing, and reading. My favorite sport is basketball and I like to play volleyball. I love spending as much time with my family and friends and would love to travel with them.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents we're converse and I was raised knowing the church my whole life. I am a Mormon today because I know that this church is true and I have no doubt about it. I had the power to choose to believe in Christ and in his church and I choose to believe because I know that my Heavenly Father has helped me through all my afflictions. When my mother was deported I couldn't stop crying because I couldn't go to Mexico with her and she is my everything and without her I felt lost. I had to stay in the states for school but we later decided that I'd be better of with my mother so I went to live with her and went to school there. I was terrified because I didn't know the language very well. Not only did I meet my best friends, but I was drawn so much closer to the church. I wasn't so eager to find out if the church was true or not but as I had so many experiences I became so spiritual and hopeful with new goals and happiness. My mother too became more spiritual and she reconnected with God. That's when I knew that God has sent us here for a reason. Sometimes we don't know what God has planned for is and sometimes we don't understand everything, but I know that if we trust Him and let Him guide us we will be in the very place we never knew we wanted to be. I know that this Gospel is true, that the Prophet Joseph Smith restored the Gospel, that Jesus Christ is our savior. I know that our Heavenly Father knows and loves each and us and only wants the best for us and I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by reading the scriptures everyday trying to better myself and make an effort to keep God's commandments knowing that all the effort and sacrifices I make for him is because he wants a better life for me. The perfect life I have for myself, I know What God has prepared for me doesn't even come close to that because it is a million times better if not even more. I will be serving a mission very soon, preaching His Gospel to the world and hope to help those who have the desire to learn more ofThe Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Marianne
Many people believe that we worship Joseph Smith; however that is not the case. We acknowledge him as a Prophet, someone who was an instrument for God to restore the church of Jesus Christ. We do not worship him we simply respect him, we declare him. We worship God and in his son Jesus Christ and strive to become like our Savior and redeemer. We have faith in God that he sends prophets to his saints to help guide us through this life knowing that we do it by the atonement of Christ. We strive to follow His [Jesus Christ] example so that one day we may able to endure this life without losing hope and faith because we know that he is by our side. Show more Show less
