Hi I'm Joseph

I'm an Adventurer. I'm a Dreamer. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I'm an 19 year old Missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I have the blessing of being able to serve wonderful and extraordinary people, just like you. This service has and currently is Changing me to become a better follower of Jesus Christ. I am the seventh of ten siblings and I love my family with all that I am, they are the reason that I am who I am. When I finish my Mission I plan to go immediately into college studying journalism or speech therapy.

Why I am a Mormon

We live a lives so different from one another, we are most likely nothing alike.Whether it be gender, race location, political orientation or even if be whether or not you like hot dogs, we probably nothing alike. However in my short time alive I have come to notice that there is a common thread in all of us, a kind of desire which many hide and others embrace, I think it's called: "The longing to belong." It comes at times when things are quite, a feeling that we don't quite fit in this world. We aren't dirt because we grow. We aren't trees because we move. We aren't animals because we Love. Before we were born we lived and existed in the glorious presence of our Heavenly Parents, They love us and we truly do love them, even now. You are a Child of God, I know that is true, I know it with every part of who I am, but it wasn't always that way. At one point in my life I really questioned my identity, I wondered if God was even there. One day I sat alone in a favorite spot and I said this in my mind: 'Am I really yours?' The answer was instant, It felt like the waves of the ocean were pounding into my chest, right into the heart, I knew who I was and were I belonged! So I challenge you, go ahead and test me. Go find a place were you are quite and alone, close your eyes and talk to your Heavenly Father and ask Him if He is really there, I know He will be. I know Heavenly Father lives, He loves you! He sent His perfect son to die for you his name was Jesus Christ and He lives as and loves you! The Book of Mormon is proof that God loves you and this Church is proof that God still talks to His Children! No matter what you choose to do, please always remember these two things: You are Awesome! You are Great! Your Friend: Joseph

How I live my faith

One ought to "live" not just perform. I think that to "live my faith" doesn't just evaluate my performance or my 'output' as a Member, but more of the "input" that I felt as I when through a long list of "things Mormon's have to do" (A list that you probably already know plenty about.) My father and I were given the assignment to go and befriend an elderly couple in our ward. Each month we were assigned a lesson that we were to minister to these wonderful late aged members. Things must have gone terribly wrong because I ended up always learning more from them! For some reason I think that the Church is always that way. I am convinced that in the Gospel of Jesus Christ, no matter how much we put in, we always get more in return. Right now I am in the middle of the beautiful country of Ghana in West Africa. I get to spend my whole day thinking about other people, do you have any idea how wonderful that is? Previous to my two year mission I had been completely dedicated to worrying about me, and a small group of other people. Heavenly Father has changed me, he has changed my desire, he has transformed me into a person who over time is much less worried about himself. To live means to change, you aren't a rock and neither am I! God made us to move, grow, learn, love and change! I know that no matter who you are, if you will learn about the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ and then apply it's principles, you will be a better person for it. If you will read the Book of Mormon and ask God if it is true I know that it will change you, I have been changed more by reading that book then any other piece of literature on the face of the Earth. I live my faith by living just a little changed each day. Come, come and be changed with us, come and become something better with us! Come and live our faith!
