Hi I'm Paige Deuel

I'm studying to become a lawyer, I play the fiddle, I'm preparing to serve a mission in New York, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am attending college in hopes to make it into law school some day. I am the only girl out of two older brothers, two step brothers, and a younger half brother. I love my family, and my mom is one of my best friends. I love to play the fiddle and sing in the shower. I love New York City almost as much as my hometown, and I can't wait to serve my mission there.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up going to church with my mom and brothers and was baptized at the age of eight. As I grew older, the rest of my family stopped going to church, and I would often go alone until I was about ten and stopped going altogether. I didn't have much to do with the church for the next few years, and they were some of the most lonely and miserable years of my life. I didn't have any direction, and I didn't think of any consequence of my actions -I'm not even sure if I believed in God. Good friends and neighbors got me going back to church, and it felt like a whole new place. I wasn't just going because my mom made me. I was learning and gaining a testimony of the gospel for myself. I read the Book of Mormon after I had finished Doctrine and Covenants, and the Old and New Testament and I knew it was true through the Holy Ghost (Moroni 10:4-5). My life has been significantly better since the gospel became a big part of my life. I was the only active member in my big family until my mom started coming to church with me. I try to be an example to those around me, and I've seen the Lord bless their lives even though they can't see it. My favorite part of the gospel is the atonement. Without Jesus Christ's sacrifice for us, we would never be able to repent of our sins and be made clean enough to return to our Father in Heaven. It took me a while to be comfortable to use the atonement and repent of my sins, but now I repent every day, and I'm grateful for the opportunity I have to do so. I know Jesus Christ lives, He is my Savior, and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is His church restored to guide us in these latter days.

How I live my faith

I teach a class of rowdy 10 year old boys alongside my mom in my church. This year, I am teaching out of the New Testament, and I love learning about Christ's life. I am preparing to serve a mission in New York, where I will teach other's of the Book of Mormon and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I'm a firm believer that every member of the LDS church is a missionary, and should teach others about the church at every opportunity, which I try to do when I get the chance.

Why do Mormons believe in the Bible?

Paige Deuel
We sure do! I actually read the Bible before I read the Book of Mormon, and I have a testimony of both books being true doctrine. They work hand in hand, and they are both testaments of Jesus Christ. Show more Show less

What is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' attitude regarding homosexuality and same sex marriage?

Paige Deuel
We believe that marriage should be between a man and a woman, and we do not support same sex marriage. However, we believe we are all sons and daughters of God, and should show love and kindness to all regardless of their choices. Show more Show less
