Hi I'm Bec Smith

I struggle in my testimony, barely holding on at times. But no matter what i cant deny, that God lives and He cares about us

About Me

Born and raised in the church although not converted in my heart at all. I got into drugs and drinking at 13 and became fully inactive by 17. I have 3 children and lived in a 9 year abusive relationship with someone who i know now is a sociopath. I watched the christian channel by happenstance and realised i was like the people of Israel, ignoring all the things God has done while whingeing wanting more. Other things were changing in my life, the desire to drink had gone, and i stopped smoking out of the blue over the course of a few days. My heart had begun to soften I opened the scriptures to Mormon 2:13 and cried and cried because that indeed was me! I was so far from real repentance. I cried for days as i read the scriptures, each time the words relating so specific to me! I gained a testimony that God is real! That he cares about little ol me and that the Book of Mormon is the Word of God. I aligned my life with Gods will, moved in with mum. Developed a solid relationship with God for over a year, then started going to church fully (because i kept opening the scriptures to passages on "gathering together int he place i have appointed lol") I got called into Primary straight away and the growth in me was remarkable. No longer the insecure mess i was after my relationship with the kids dad i was confident, something i had never felt before. A year later i moved us out on our own, started working and now study my dream course all thanks to our Father in Heaven...

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon 1. Because the Lord guided me to this church. 2. Because of the pure and wholesome standards of the church that align with my feeling towards the world. 3. Every thing about the structure and organisation of the church resembles my perception of how God would be. Strictly organised, always wholesome and proper. 4. Ive observed the small tasks or opportunities we are given to participate in church grown and change us individuals remarkably 5. The interaction with friendly members that care for you each week, voicing our opinions in classes or gaining opportunity to teach are for OUR benefit temporally as well as spiritually.

How I live my faith

I struggle all the time and even right now am going through my hardest trials. But because my testimony was built on a relationship with God through the Book of Mormon, no matter what i go through, if thats all i have, thats all i need. Its enough to keep my holding on till the lower lights help me back to shore. When i struggle with counsel im given or feel misunderstood, That is the hardest thing for me personally because i KNOW God isnt like that, he understands us intimately and gives us tailored advice not generalised guides that can suit any problem.
