Hi I'm Tamina Vida Hemmi

I live in a Swiss Canadian home. I love serving others, and am making it my profession. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi! So I am almost 20 years old. I am currently attending college for a program in social worker, specifically for children and youth. I have 1 brother and 4 sisters, which makes for a loud and rambunctious household, and that's without our two energetic dogs. I work in customer service mostly as a job to get me through school, although it has allowed me to come in contact with some interesting people. I have a tonnes of friends, and a boyfriend who are all serving their missions, in various parts of the world. I have a passion for the outdoors and for serving others and try to find opportunities to do both. I am an avid reader of a variety of genres. This coupled with my passion for learning and gaining knowledge make me an excited student. I love studying from the scriptures and their holy words. And I try to end my days with a wonderful feeling of joy at what I have accomplished.

Why I am a Mormon

Hmm.. that is a really big question. There are so many reasons. Honestly though the main reason that everything else depends on is that it makes sense to me and it makes me happy. This gospel, in it's true and complete form, has allowed me to learn and grow and develop into a person who not only tries to be the best I can but I want to share that with others. I am so happy in the work that I do and in the lessons that I have learnt. They make sense to me, and I know that they are true. I know that God, my Heavenly Father, considers me to be his own daughter and that he wants to best for me. That clicks with me, and it makes me happy. This gospel and my God accept me in my imperfect state but push me to become more than what I am. There is nothing else in the world that I have found that is able to bring such immense joy to my life and also a steady peace and calm that assures me of the truth of these things. So that is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I have tried to become involved in the church through a variety of ways, officially and unofficially. I have been involved in countless service projects within my local community; things like garbage clean ups, baking for the sick, free food for the homeless or less fortunate, and others. I have also tried to bring my passions to my work by helping organizing camping trips and outdoors games and activities, which have always been a lot of fun. I try to be involved with the missionaries in their efforts to share the gospel with others, through going out with them to find people and introducing them to people in my life. I also work with the women in our church. I am responsible for keeping in touch with them all and seeing how they are doing in life, and trying to uplift them with my words. Honestly though, it's mostly about the small things that we can all do. Opening the door for someone, offering a smile or a greeting, expressing gratitude for others, visiting a friend or loved one, and many more. These always have a way of making my own day better as well as someone else's. I love my service within (and without) of the church. It has blessed my life immensely.
