Hi I'm Austin

I'm a mormon, I live in Utah & have grown up all over the country, due to my father's military service. I love mixed martial arts!

About Me

I am 18 years old and I am about to serve a LDS mission in Piura, Peru. I am so excited to serve the Lord in Peru and cannot wait to get out there!! I love mixed martial arts (MMA) and have been involved with martial arts for 9 years. I love to shoot, hike, camp, be with my friends, and being with my family. I am the oldest of 6 kids. My Mom is a saint in my eyes and she is also a widow. My father passed away in 2012 from brain cancer after going through extreme chemotherapy treatments. I love life and love to be happy.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon because I love my Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, and his children. As I have been a member of the church I have come to a knowledge and belief for myself that Jesus Christ lives and that he has restored his church through a prophet named Joseph Smith. It is through this church and its teachings that I come closer to Christ and gain the strength to live and love my life and endure hardship. When my Dad died of cancer I thought there had to be a reason why and there had to be some other way for me to see him again. So I threw everything I had at God. He answered me. I have seen miracles in my life big and small. I know with every fiber of my being that he exists and that he loves all his children with an indescribable love. It is theough the gospel of Jesus Christ that we can find peace and the answers to some of the most difficult and trying questions and circumstances. It is because of this gospel that I know the Savior has provided a way for me to see my dad again and for my family to be together forever. It is through the Savior and his sacrifice on the cross that I can repent of my sins and be made clean again. Guilt becomes peace and fear becomes courage through the Savior and his plan of happiness and salvation for us. He truly did suffer all things for everyone and because he did he knows perfectly each and everyone of us and how to make us the best we can be. God loves each and every one of us more than we will ever know and as we follow him miracles big or small will happen happen.

How I live my faith

Right now I am preparing to serve a two year mission for the LDS church in Piura Peru. I do many things to live the gospel in my daily life. I am in charge of the missionary preparation courses for my stake which includes about 150 teens. I also help plan a summer missionary Preperation camp. I also serve as the student body seminary president at my local seminary. I serve as the second councilor in a presidency over a quorum of other teens my age. Outside of the church obligations I wholeheartedly strive to live a life my savior would approve of.
