Hi I'm Kira

I'm adopted, I grew up in California, I love all things art and sport-related, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was adopted when I was 11 months old and grew up in Northern California. I am the middle child of 3 daughters. I've always had a love for the arts-- both on paper and through music and dance. I've also played sports throughout my life and have a love of traveling. I am about to leave on an 18 month mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Lima Peru.

Why I am a Mormon

I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is true and I believe in the Book of Mormon. I believe that families can be together forever. I know that if we choose to live our lives with the Savior as our example, we are able to enjoy all the blessings our Heavenly Father has for us. I am grateful for the service given by all missionaries-- those serving full-time missions and those serving as member missionaries-- in bringing the gospel to the world. I am grateful for the gift of the Holy Ghost and know if we live worthy of it, it can be a life saver, a comforter when times are tough, and a familiar companion. I am grateful for the opportunity that I have to serve a mission and to be an instrument in the Lord's hand to bring my brothers and sisters back to the gospel.

How I live my faith

Throughout my youth I was able to participate in multiple youth activities and was able to serve in youth leadership roles. As I got older, I invited many friends to church related activities such as dances. I've also had to joy of serving with the children in our church through Primary classes.

How are modesty and chastity related? How can parents teach their children to be modest in dress, language and behavior?

Kira
What you wear reveals a lot about your values. This can include chastity. When you dress modestly, you show that you respect yourself and your body, which is a sacred gift given to us from our Heavenly Father. We also want to dress modestly to help those of the opposite gender around us keep the law of chastity as well. Many immodest outfits can make it hard for those around us to remain having clean thoughts and actions. We want help those around us succeed in keeping their standards and promises with Heavenly Father. Show more Show less
