Hi I'm Jake

I'm a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I'm a surfer. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am 18 years old and recently graduated from high school. I have played water polo for 6 years both for my school and on a competitive club team in the community. I also like to surf, body board, and just hang out at the beach with my friends. I identify with California but I was born in Michigan where I lived until I was 4 years old.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints so I do not have a powerful conversion story. While I was born into the gospel, it was still necessary for me to know for myself that what I have been raised to believe it the truth. My conversion has happened slowly and often haltingly over my whole life. I have learned that the only true rock on which we as God's children can successfully build fulfilling lives is on the His gospel. I have gained a lot of peace and happiness through the gospel as I have strived to live it in everything that I do.

How I live my faith

I am about to leave home for 2 years to become a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I will be serving in the Baltic Mission in Eastern Europe preaching the gospel in the Estonian language. This is the most apparent way that I live my faith. I also was a ward missionary before being called to serve on a mission. As a ward missionary I focused on helping the members of my ward with whatever they need and organizing lessons for the full-time missionaries to teach.
