Hi I'm Heidi

I am a daughter. I am a granddaughter. I am a sister. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Some things about me: I'm a quiet person, with quiet hobbies and a quiet voice. I love quiet music, real music that comes from the heart. I love pretty things.Things like fairytales, the moon, sunsets and sunrises, seashells, glass objects or anything that reflects light or color fascinates me. I am a bit addicted to Jane Austen and regency era novels. :/ I love to make things, from painting or taking pictures, baking or sewing or whatever. I think creating something beautiful that didn't exist before is fantastic. I love reading and writing. I love history, particularly family history and genealogy. I'm half Korean with a Korean mother and American father. I love Korea and have been there two times in my life. In college I plan to study culture, english, and genealogy. I moved to Colorado from Utah recently. I can't wait to serve a full-time mission!

Why I am a Mormon

I choose to be a Mormon because it makes me happy! I was born in the church, but aren't we all converts? This is my conversion story: Growing up in the church, its easy to take the Gospel of Jesus Christ for granted, especially in Mormon Utah. There was a time in my life when I didn't want to go to church or read my scriptures. But I always knew that there was a God and that he loved me. I knew He loved me, because even though I felt like I wasn't valuable or a very good human being, He still blessed me. And I asked myself one day: Why? Why would God still love me and bless me so much when I've been so mean to my friends and so hypocritical? I decided to finally open the Book of Mormon and find out why. Everything pointed to the Savior Jesus Christ, and as I kneeled in prayer, I felt His love for me. It was THE BEST feeling in the world! After that, whenever I felt like I was sinking, I opened up the Book of Mormon and read until I felt better. It was like medicine. It was like liquid sunlight pouring into your soul. I knew it was true, because only something created by God could make you feel such love and joy and desire to be better every single minute. I knew that Joseph Smith was Prophet, and that he was commanded by God to translate the Book of Mormon. The rest is history. I loved going to church and I changed into a person known for being kind and positive. I know that living the commandments of God keep me free and happy. I know that having a family and raising children in righteousness is the very best calling we can have in this life. Being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and following the teachings of Jesus Christ is my whole life!

How I live my faith

Like I said, I'm a daughter, a granddaughter, and a sister. My roles are first to my family: my parents and four brothers. Also to my grandparents and ancestors. Studying my ancestors is one of my passions. I get so excited when I find something from them.I am so grateful to have been born into the Mormon faith, because it gave me a foundation for the belief in Jesus Christ and the importance of family. I love going to church, and I definitely can't live without my scriptures. Reading scriptures and saying a prayer are the very first things I do in the morning and the last things I do at night. I do my best to help out wherever I can with whatever I can. I believe that the simplest acts of random kindness are the most important, because we live in a dark world. Finding bits of light and kindness give people hope.
