Hi I'm Jenessa

Grew up in Washington State, I love the outdoors, and I am soon to be a missionary in Cape Verde, right off the coast of Africa!

About Me

Born and raised in the beautiful Washington State, I grew up loving the outdoors. I am very fortunate to live not more than 2 hours from the ocean, desert, mountains, lakes, and forests. I am the youngest of 11 (blended family), and I couldn't love having a big family more! I was a cheerleader for 5 years for my high school, as well as a competition cheerleader where I made it to Nationals in Anaheim, CA in 2014. I love art, I've been drawing for most of my life, it's one of my favorite things to do. I graduated from Kalama High School in 2014, while also graduating from Lower Columbia College with my AA transfer degree the same year. In April of 2015 I will be leaving this beautiful state to serve as a missionary for this wonderful church in Cape Verde!

Why I am a Mormon

I choose to be a member of this church because I love it. I love the people who love and support me through the deepest trials, and celebrate my greatest accomplishments. I love this gospel that helps me to gain a knowledge and a love for my Savior, Jesus Christ, and my Father in Heaven. I love the scriptures because they help guide and direct me in my life, giving me comfort when needed and help me to gain a deeper understanding of my Savior, and the trials and tribulations that past prophets went through in order to spread the gospel. I love the peace and joy I feel every time I read my scriptures, say my prayers, or attend church meetings. I have never been happier than when I am striving to be like my Savior and Redeemer. I know my Redeemer lives. I know he died for me, and that he loves me. I know that the Book of Mormon is true, I've read it, I've prayed about it. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God, and that he restored this gospel back to the Earth. I know that through obedience, I will be blessed. I cannot wait to show my love for this gospel by dedicating the next year and a half of my life to purely serve him. I cannot wait to bring his sheep back to the fold. I love this gospel.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by attending my church meetings every Sunday, where I am able to worship our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and my Heavenly Father. I also live my faith by attending other church meetings such as Family Home Evening, where I get to spend time and hang out with people my age who share my beliefs and loves this gospel as much as I do. I also live my faith by sacrificing the next year and a half of my life to serve as a Missionary for this wonderful church in Cape Verde, a string of islands 350 miles off the west coast of Africa. I am so blessed and grateful to be a member of this church, and a year and a half is hardly a sacrifice when I think of the sacrifice Jesus made for me, so that I can return to my Heavenly Father.
