Hi I'm Tyson Hancock

I play baseball. I have been called to serve in the Thailand Bangkok Mission, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Tyson Hancock. I love to play baseball and pretty much every other sport. I also love spending time with my three younger brothers hunting, fishing, camping, and everything outdoors. I am currently serving a two year LDS mission in the Thailand Bangkok mission which includes all of Thailand, Myanmar, and Laos, and I love it. When I return home, I will attend Southern Utah University and enter their Pre-Med program. My goal is to become a doctor.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon simply because I know that this is the true Church. I have read the Book of Mormon and sincerely prayed about it and God has confirmed it in my heart that it is true. I also know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God called to restore the same church that Christ organized while on this earth. We have prophets today who lead and guide this church through revelation. Jesus Christ lives and he is at the head of this church. God has provided a plan for us to not only return to him but someday become like him. If we follow the commandments of God that are revealed to his prophets, and use the atonement of Jesus Christ in our lives we can accomplish this. Because of this knowledge that I have, it gives me so much joy. I have so much joy in knowing that their is a plan for me and if I follow the guidelines, I can achieve my goals. To all those who read this, whether members or not, I promise that you to can know the truth of all things if you follow the promise found in Moroni 10:4-5. Heavenly Father loves me, he loves you, and He loves all the rest of his children. He wants you to have eternal happiness. I testify of these things in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints has given me so many opportunities to both serve others around me and also be served. In the Church their are church callings that give individuals opportunities to learn leadership skills, fulfill responsibilities, and learn to serve others. I have held callings that have taught me these things in unique ways. Currently, I am serving as a full-time missionary in the Thailand Bangkok Mission which means that I get to devote all of my time to sharing my faith and finding ways to serve those around me. The benefits of living my faith through obedient service are tremendous. Often I find that when I strive to serve others, I am the one who receives the most blessings. In the Book of Mormon in Mosiah 2:17 it states, "When ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your God." I know that when I strive to live my faith by serving others, I receive so many blessings from God for my efforts.
