Hi I'm Denise

I was Southern Baptist from the age of 7 until the age of 58. I am now an LDS member at 60. Find out why!

About Me

I grew up in the typical Southern Baptist home, going to Sunday School and accepting Jesus Christ at 7 years of age. I am an artist and musician by nature, traveling with a Christian band as a professional musician for 10 years. I sing and play the clarinet and saxophone. Later, I went to work in business in the medical administration field. I am happily married but with no children. My hobbies are music, writing, art, cooking, and sharing the gospel.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised Southern Baptist with a firm foundation in the Old and New Testaments. I was fortunate to have access to master and doctrinal level classes at Southwestern Theological Baptist Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. When I first met my future husband, he was very clear on his faith choice as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I took religions class in school and I had a very scant knowledge of it. I wanted to know more and I wanted to know why. Once I read the Book of Mormon, The Doctrine and Covenants, The Pearl of Great Price many questions I had as a serious Bible student were answered. More than that, the history of where I came from, why I am here on the earth, and where I am going after that were cleared up in much detail. It all unfolded before my eyes. It took me a year of study to come to the realization that I was looking at a much deeper, more detailed, and completely seamless testimony of the life and work of Jesus Christ. My spirit found answers I had been seeking for many years. I found my purpose on this earth. I found complete beauty in those works as I do the Bible. I had to declare these books are true, and the complete gospel was restored. It put Church World History and the disappearance of the original New Testament church in perspective. Most of all, I found the anointing power of the Holy Ghost by the laying on of hands, which changed me from the inside out.

How I live my faith

I have a calling as visiting home teaching supervisor. I most enjoy all the work of the church including working at the storehouse, cleaning the church, visiting church members and people investigating the church with the missionaries, and singing when I am called upon.
