Hi I'm Nolan

I grew up in Utah. I love the Gospel, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a junior in college, still trying to figure out what I am going to study and do with my life. I know its time to pick something already but I can't make up my mind! I love basketball and I consider myself pretty good. I also enjoy golfing, lifting weights, snowboarding, ping-pong, and a good joke. I like staying active and competitive. I do not like to lose in anything, but I also understand that not every situation can be won and I do not let it bother me.

Why I am a Mormon

The reason I am a Mormon is my testimony and knowledge that the Book of Mormon is true. Because if that book is true then the man who translated it (Joseph Smith) is a true prophet of God. And God lives because he helped Joseph Smith translate the Book of Mormon. It all hinges upon the Book of Mormon. If anyone is willing, with a sincere heart, in search of truth, to find out that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is true I know they will find an answer from reading and praying about that book. I have found my own answer by doing just that. I was not always excited about religion in my life. In fact I thought I was too cool for religion. When I was at the point in my life to determine whether or not to go on a mission I postponed it for 2 years. My stake president challenged me to read the Book of Mormon in 2-3 months. I did it and a greater light and happiness came into my life.

How I live my faith

I try to stay true to my church and my faith, although I am not perfect. I teach Sunday school for various ages of teens ranging from 12-16 years old. I try to love others with a happy attitude and smile. I love and read the Book of Mormon which is a very important part of my life. I would ask any of you searching for truth to read and pray about the Book of Mormon and you will come to find happiness in your life and you'll know that it talks of truth. I've recently received a mission call from God to serve and help his children to find the purpose in their life. "For there are many yet on the earth... who are only kept from the truth because they know not where to find it." I believe in Jesus Christ and that without him I am nothing but the dust of the earth. But I have hope in Christ, he is the most important person in my faith.

Why was a Restoration of the Gospel needed? Haven’t we always had the Bible?

After Jesus died, his church was left to his apostles. Jesus Christ guided his church by revelation through his apostles. After his apostles died the priesthood of God was taken from the earth. Many truths of the gospel were distorted and lost. An apostasy occurred in which a restitution was needed through which God's priesthood and gospel were restored as they once had been. Because Christs apostles died many people were lost and did not know what to do. Many councils had taken place in order to choose what was important and during that time changes were made to the bible in order to understand it. Also many religious men have translated the bible from one language to another. I believe the bible to be true as long as it has been translated correctly. Show more Show less
