Hi I'm Masyn

I grew up in Lehi Utah. I moved to Rexburg Idaho when I was in the 8th grade.

About Me

I have always loved basketball and football even though I have never played on school teams. I did join my schools speech and debate team though. That was one of the best decisions I made in high school. It taught me many skills and provided the perfect environment for developing relationships with the people i now call my friends. I started working when I was about 14 or 15. I've moved irrigation pipe, I've worked in a greenhouse, I've been a dishwasher and a cook at a Mexican restaurant, and now I change oil and work on cars at a gas station and lube bay. I am only 17 years old but I have had valuable work experience throughout my high school career. I am preparing to serve a full time LDS mission in Guatemala in July of 2015! My plans after my mission are to go to BYU provo and get married.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have come to know of the truthfulness of this gospel and the reality of God and his part in my life. Because of trials and hardships that I have had in my life I have gone through a time where I felt lost. I had been raised a Mormon but still needed my own testimony. This time in my life i felt lost. One night i was visiting a friend who had been in an accident and she shared one of the most powerful testimonies i have ever heard with me. The moment i left her house I needed to change. I had slipped out of my habit of daily scripture study and daily prayer. For the next 6 months I took part in Christs atonement through the repentance process. I had several spiritual experiences that were not huge but definitely had an impact on me. These 6 months are when I really realized the true power of daily scripture study and prayer. It has given me the strength and courage to turn my life around and find Christs light. From this experience I gained my own testimony of prayer, scripture study, and the importance of good friends. That testimony is what truly keeps me living the way I do. Having a testimony of my own is what keeps me going and what motivates me to live in accordance to Gods commandments.

How I live my faith

I attend church services weekly. I hold the aaronic priesthood. I participate in blessing the sacrament in church as well as taking it to the elderly who are not able to attend. My dad and I home teach 2 families in our ward monthly. I try to read my scriptures daily and try to say prayers at least daily. I attend LDS seminary everyday while i am going to high school.
