Hi I'm Katie McKnight

I'm a Buckeye. I'm a college student. I'm a musician. I'm a photographer. I'm an avid adventurer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm currently attending Brigham Young University-Idaho and I'm loving every second of it! I'm majoring in Business Management with an emphasis in Marketing and minoring in Photography. I have a love for learning that only increases as my education continues. I'm a far ways away from home and often get homesick, but I'm grateful for the experiences and trials I have gone through because they continue to mold me into the person I want to become. I'm a strong believer of "everything happens for a reason." I believe that certain people are placed in our lives when we need them most and are given to us to learn and grow from. I come from a family of seven; my siblings and parents are my best friends. I have a passion for music, traveling, photography/videography, writing, adventuring, and sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

I have chosen to be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Days Saints because I know that my Redeemer lives and loves me. My darkest days have been when I have tried to deny the truthfulness of this gospel and have turned my back on God. I have come to realize that life is so much more difficult without Heavenly Father and His son, Jesus Christ by my side. When we include them in our lives, they can help to carry our heavy burdens. I have obtained such a strong testimony of the Atonement of Jesus Christ. Because He atoned for the sins of the world, He has made it possible for us to repent of our sins and be made clean again. I know for a surety that there is no sin too great that can't be forgiven through the Atonement process. I have a testimony of Christ's resurrection and know that because He died for us and was resurrected that we can all be resurrected as He was. I know for a fact that we are ALL sons and daughters of a loving Heavenly Father. I have come to understand that as a daughter of God I have infinite worth in His eyes. I know that He knows me better than I know myself and sees my potential. I know that He loves me unconditionally, and His arms are always extended to me. I have a testimony of the power of prayer. It has changed my life. What a significant difference communicating with my Heavenly Father has been in my life. I know that even when I feel alone, I have someone to turn to who is always willing to listen to me and will send his comforter the Holy Ghost to help me to feel His love for me. I feel so much closer with my father in Heaven when I go to Him in prayer and it is here that I find my strength to get through the hardships in my life. I am a Mormon because there is nothing in this life that could bring me greater joy!

How I live my faith

I go about every day looking for opportunities to serve others and try my hardest to carry myself in a way that those around me can see the light of Christ shine in my countenance. Growing up in a small town and being the only member of the church at my high school gave me the unique opportunity to stand out in a crowd. I enjoyed being different and I was often presented with many opportunities to answer questions and share the gospel with my peers. Although not always easy, it definitely helped me to gain a testimony of missionary work and reminded me just how much of an impact one person and their testimony can have on the lives of many. Today I remember those experiences and can confidently share my testimony and my love for this perfect gospel. I want everyone to be able to partake of this same happiness that the gospel has brought to my life!
