Hi I'm Elena

I grew up in Idaho near the beautiful Teton Mountains. I am a wife and mother of 5 beautiful children. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I love my family! I am married to my best friend, and we have 5 wonderful children. Our two oldest are currently serving full time missions for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I love spending time with my family. Some of the things we enjoy doing together are camping, four-wheeling, back-packing, hiking, picking huckleberries, reading, watching movies, cooking, playing games, and spending time with extended family (grandmas and grandpas, aunt, uncle, and cousins)! As you can see, we enjoy doing almost anything, as long as we are together as a family. Some of my personal hobbies and interests are reading, cooking, sewing, running, crocheting, just to name a few. I work a couple of days a week at my children's elementary school as a librarian. I love being in the school and helping the students find great books to read. The hardest thing I have ever done is be a mom. The best thing I have ever done is be a mom!! There are so many things that bring me joy in my life, but without a doubt it is my family that brings me the greatest joy and happiness!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I believe that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is true. My parents are members of the church, and I was raised as a Mormon. As I have grown older, I have fasted and prayed, searched and studied, to find out for myself if this church is true. The Spirit of God has testified to me that it IS true. Living the teachings of the gospel has helped me be a better wife and mother. A better friend and neighbor. I think it has helped me be a better person in every way. The teachings of the gospel have helped me and my husband establish patterns and traditions in our family that form a basis for a beautiful, fulfilling, and happy family life. I believe with all of my heart that true happiness can only be found by living the principles taught by our Savior, Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I live my faith on a daily basis by always trying to be the best that I can be. Because of the things that I have been taught about Jesus Christ, I know that He is the example I want to follow. I fall short often, but because of Christ's atonement, I know that I can repent of my mistakes, and keep trying to be better. I love attending church each Sunday because I continue to learn more about Christ and I feel a special feeling there, which gives me hope and joy and the courage to keep trying my best through the coming week. As a member of the church I have had the opportunity to serve in many callings. I have been the chorister for the Primary (children's organization), taught Sunday lessons to children ages 1-3, taught youth ages 15, and currently serve in a presidency of the young women's organization (girls ages 12- 18). I have also been the director for Girls' Camp and served in presidencies of the Primary and Relief Society (women's organization). I enjoy serving in these different ways, although sometimes I feel inadequate. But I always learn and grow and feel like I am a better person because of the ways I am able to serve in our church.
