Hi I'm Catherine

I have grown up in Tennessee. I aspire to be a teacher. I love music, fireworks, ice cream, sports, and nature. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up going to summer camp every year, and those summers have taught me to appreciate nature and the beauty of God's creation. I love lakes, oceans, mountains, camping and hiking. I rowed crew throughout middle school and high school, and I love the feeling of racing on the water. I also love working with children! I want to be an elementary school teacher, and I hope to someday have a big family. I love to sing and play. I have many dreams and aspirations, but I am putting them on hold to serve a full-time 18 month mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and I couldn't be happier.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is my favorite place to worship God. I feel the Holy Spirit so strongly when I read the Book of Mormon along with the Bible. I love the organization of the Church; it is set up so no one is left behind or forgotten. I love the focus on family, and on humanitarian work. I have belonged to many churches throughout my lifetime, but since attending the LDS church my testimony of Jesus Christ and his Atonement have deepened like never before. Jesus truly is the son of God. I know that he came to this Earth to teach the true Gospel of our Father in Heaven. I know that Jesus died for all of the world's bad and wrong-doing, so that each one of us has the opportunity to be clean and return to Heaven. I love the joy that is only found in the Mormon church!

How I live my faith

I participate in my church and community in many different ways. I attended church every week! At church I have worked with the youth, specifically girls age 12-18. I taught lessons and helped organize functions. I have also taught Sunday school to 4-5 year old children. I also help in my Church's music department. In the community I attend service projects often. Recently we cleaned up an abandoned cemetery, because the weeds had overgrown and there was trash everywhere. There are always opportunities to give back, we just have to be willing to take them. Every day I try to pray and read the scriptures (The Holy Bible and the Book of Mormon) because that strengthens my faith and brings me peace.
