Hi I'm Nathan

I am a return missionary, future Special Forces Soldier, college Freshman and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 20 years old. I have grown up in a small town and because of that I love the mountains. I love hunting, four-wheeling, and archery. I have also been blessed growing up playing sports. I have played football and basketball and done wrestling and track. Football has taught me so much and is my favorite sport. I served a 2 year mission for the Church in Reno, Sparks, and Winnemucca, Nevada. I loved it so much and I received more happiness than ever before as I taught the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ to those who I met. The peace that I have received from the knowledge of the Plan of Salvation by reading the Book of Mormon has become a foundation for my life and I know that it is only possible through Christ to return to live with my Father in Heaven. I am going to be a Utah National Guard Special Forces Soldier and I am thankful that the Lord has led me on that path as I have returned home from faithfully serving a mission for my Father in Heaven and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into this Church and my parents have always been members so for a while you could say I lived on my parents testimonies. I didn't really know for sure if this church was true or not, but I do now. When I found out for myself that it was true, I was a leader at a Mormon scout camp. Our first Prophet in this dispensation, Joseph Smith, was martyred and we reenacted that in the woods by lighting off firecrackers in metal cans representing the gun shots. The Spirit was so strong and then we had a testimony meeting and after hearing the testimonies of all these boys and bearing my own, I knew without a doubt in my mind that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints was true. Since then I have prepared myself to go on a mission for the Church. At 18 years old for boys and 19 years old for girls, we can go on a 2 year mission to teach others about the gospel. I was blessed to serve in the Nevada Reno Mission and I loved every second of it and received more happiness as I shared the Gospel than I ever have before. I used to think that winning a State Championship in football would be the greatest happiness I could receive, but I now know that not to be true. As I opened my mission call, I felt more peace than I have ever felt in my life and I have learned that peace is the only feeling that Satan can not mask. To me that testifies that I was feeling the Spirit of the Lord which is the Holy Ghost and that is another testament to me that this Church is true. I know that I was blessed by serving a mission for the Lord. I have a testimony of this Church and more importantly my Savior that no one can take away from me. I know that this Church is Christ's restored Church on this Earth and I know that the Book of Mormon is true. I know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God and that we have a living prophet on this Earth today. I am so grateful for the knowledge that I have and I am thankful that each day I recognize God's hand in my life in many ways.

How I live my faith

I served a two year mission for the Church in the Nevada Reno Mission. I regularly attend the Temple, other Church functions, and build my testimony each day by reading the Book of Mormon and praying to my Father in Heaven. I know that it is the simple things that we do each day which will determine our eternal destiny. I also love attending Institute (a place at college where we continue to further our knowledge of our Savior). I strive to go out with our missionaries as well to help them as they teach the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
