Hi I'm Thomas

I love to study foreign languages. I speak Japanese, French, and Chinese. I'm a programmer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm 18. Up to this point, I've worked hard to remain a 4.0 student while taking a good number of honors and other advanced placement classes. Now I'm just ready to graduate from high school. I love to play the piano, marimba, and drum set. I have a job as a web developer. I've decided to put college and my job on hold while I go on a mission. I will be teaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the people in Tokyo, Japan. While it will be difficult to leave my life behind, nothing is more important to me than serving my Savior, Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have a testimony that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is Christ's church restored in our day. Joseph Smith was a prophet of God and he did, in fact, see God the Father and the Son. I have gained this testimony through consistent prayer and scripture study. Being a member of the Church has blessed me in many ways. It has given me comfort and direction. It has increased happiness in my home through decreasing contention and enriching relationships. Truly, I am Mormon because it is the best way to achieve happiness!

How I live my faith

The central way I live my faith is by living God's commandments on a day to day basis - both those revealed to ancient prophets and those revealed to prophets specifically for the people of our day. I have found that these commandments are not restrictions. They are guidelines to happiness. Another way that I live my faith is by encouraging youth to learn about their own family history. I have seen power in my own life as I have learned about my heritage, and have enjoyed seeing that power in other's lives.
