Hi I'm Reed Kenneth Holland

I love laughing, communicating, and filmmaking. Im a Mormon.

About Me

Im a California boy! I was born in Los Angels County and lived there up until I was around ten years old. It was around this time that my family decided to move to the foothills of the Sierra Nevada's. Growing up in NorCal I learned a lot. I learned what it means to be a hard worker. I would spend countless days with my dad either working on my grandpas ranch shearing sheep and putting up fences or working construction with my dad who is a tile contractor. I also learned that I definitely dont want to be a tile contractor;) In High School I attended a school that had a great film program where I developed a love for telling stories (especially stories about life). After I graduated High School I broke free of the California border and made my travels to Rexburg, Idaho where I attended school at BYU-Idaho. My declared major at BYUI is communications with an emphasis in video production. Through the classes I took, I continued my love of story telling through filmmaking, public speaking, and having good laughs with friends. I am so thankful for this life I have to live to write my own story... and my next chapter takes my to the Denver Colorado South Mission where I will be serving the Lord there for two years. I cant wait to see what this chapter holds!!

Why I am a Mormon

In short there are three main reasons why I am a Mormon. 1. I know that Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior, I know that he loves me just like he loves all of his children. I can see his hand in my life whenever I am in need he is there for me. He is my Lord, He is my Savior, He is my friend. 2. I have a testimony of the Book of Mormon. I have read it and have felt the spirit testify to me that it is true. I know that God has restored his church on the earth and has given us Prophets to lead and guide us. 3. The gospel is my firm foundation which brings me TRUE happiness. By building my foundation around his teachings I can have continued happiness. Yes, there are times when the winds will blow against me and I fall down but because of Christ's atonement I have the ability to get back up and because of the fulness of the gospel here on the earth, I can get a grip on the iron rod( the word of god) and continue to make my way towards Christ.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving others. Since I have grown up in the church I have had many opportunities to go out on countless service projects and serve in many church callings. When I was younger, I didn't really see why going on service projects or fully fulfilling my callings was so important. All I knew was that after I did complete a service project or fulfill one of my callings I had a good feeling inside. I now recognize why I had that feeling of peace inside. It's because when I am in the service of others I am in the service of God. Christ commanded us to follow in his footsteps. When Christ was on the earth he comforted those in need of comfort, he mourned with those that mourned. As I try to follow in his footsteps, I feel that I come closer to him as I serve others.
