Hi I'm Jade

I like reading, daydreaming and eating food. I collect teddy bears and I'm a mormon.

About Me

I am a massive foodie, I think its my number one past-time :) I love travelling and I love theatre, books and all the nerdy stuff that goes with it. I have a law degree and a medical law masters, I have a particular interest in reproductive rights.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents converted when I was about 4 and I was fortunate enough to be sealed to them when I was 7. I consider myself lucky to have been raised within the church and the gospel has always been a huge part of my life. I started struggling in my early teens and I fell away for what feels like a very long time. In actual fact it was longer than I realise, probably about 5 years, and I had been doubting for a while before that. Then, a few years ago, my mum was called as the Stake Primary President (to work with the children within the church) and I went to see her first ever 20 minute talk because she was nervous and had asked for my support. It was a different ward than my own so i could relax without being bombarded by people who I hadn't seen for years :) Being at church that Sunday, it was a strange experience, it wasn't as though the penny dropped and I suddenly believed in the gospel but I realised how much happier I felt. Whilst less active I played a part in my best friends conversion, seeing her life transform and the happiness it brought her reminded me of what I had experienced in the past and what I wanted in the future. Returning to church was one of the most difficult things I've ever done. I never knew I was such a stubborn person until I had to swallow my pride and admit that I had been wrong. I love my Saviour more than anything and I am so grateful that through him I can become clean and return to my Heavenly Father. My greatest fear is that I will not reach my true potential, I know 100% that living the Gospel brings me true happiness and by living it, I want nothing more than to be a confident and credible witness of my Saviour. I know that He lives. I have my own testimony of the Book of Mormon, I have read it and I believe what has been written to be the words of God. I have received my own witness that the Gospel has been restored through Joseph Smith and I know that Thomas S Monson is a true Prophet of God called for our day.

How I live my faith

I pray daily and I read the scriptures, both the Book of Mormon and the Bible. I go to church every week, I have taught the ladies in the church of a Sunday and I have worked with people of my own age group in different organisations within the church. I live the gospel happily by trying my best to follow my Saviour's example. I partake of the sacrament on a Sunday and each week I try and improve so that I am a better person. Right now I am serving in the Philippines-Cebu Mission so that I can share that happiness with others.
