Hi I'm Blake

I was born in Australian. I have been living in the USA since I was 10. I teach skiing.

About Me

I was born in Australia and moved to the USA when I was 10 years old. During high school I was a soccer referee and field hockey umpire for three years. I helped to manage the high school field hockey team and have played at a couple of national competions that allowed boys to play. In 2013 I became an Eagle Scout and have particularly enjoyed working on the waterfront at scout camp as a lifeguard for several summers. I completed my first semester studying Recreational Management at BYU Idaho and am am currently taking a two year break to serve a full time mission in the Denver Colorado South Mission. I saved most of the money for my mission by working the last three winter seasons at my local ski area in Connecticut, where I mostly taught skiing and occasionally some snowboarding.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Church, but it is through the many experiences during my life that I have gone through my own conversion process. This has included reading my scriptures, saying my prayers, attending early morning seminary during high school and attending church each week. I have also visited many Church historic sites, where I have been able to feel the spirit and increase my testimony of Joseph Smith and the Restoration of the Gospel. The Gospel has given me peace in many situations I have faced, whether it was stress at school, being away from home while working and at college, or sometimes even sometimes when I was not getting along with my younger brothers.

How I live my faith

I love to help people. To me helping and serving others is a great way to live my faith. Whether it is stopping to help someone while skiing or participating in a service project or holding the door open for someone, there are many ways to serve. I particularly enjoyed being a Cub Scout Den Leader, and working with the cub scouts each week, to start them on their own road to becoming an Eagle Scout. As a full-time missionary for the Church, I will continue to increase my faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

How does the Church finance its operations?

Members in the Church willingly pay a tithing to the church. Which is 10% of their income. The church uses this to pay for the expenses of the church. Tithing is not a burden to me instead it is a commitment of my faith and I know I receive more in blessing. Show more Show less
