Hi I'm Maurine Oldroyd

I grew up in Fountain Green Utah. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to hunt, fish and go camping. I absolutely love photography. It is something I love to do to pass the time. I'm usually always outside. I'm very outgoing and ambitious! I was going to school to become an RN (registered nurse) I have always wanted to go into the NICU. (newborn intensive care unit) As of now I'm more leaning towards going into Education for the Special Needs. I love children and I love to work with them! Right now I am on a mission in Virginia! I absolutely love it here!

Why I am a Mormon

About 6 years ago my family and I went through some really hard struggles. I had been a member of the Church for about 5 years by then. When the hard times seemed to push into my life, nothing seemed to help. I gave up on the Church for a good 2 years. I never wanted to go, I didn't even want to know if it was true anymore. I thought that I knew the Church was true, but it took six years to realize that up to that point, I only believed what I was taught, and hadn't yet come to truly know for myself. I tried to study the gospel. I started to go church every Sunday, when I got to High School I even tried Seminary. Nothing seemed to help me really learn for myself what the gospel was. So again I gave up for a couple years. I kept telling myself that if there really was a God he wouldn't let me struggle like this. Well Senior year of High School I started really getting into the Church. I found myself wanting to know more about it. I started learning more and more about the restoration and the truths of the gospel. It seemed the more I dedicated myself to studying the gospel and finding out for myself what was true the happier I was. I wasn't so depressed and upset with myself all the time, and I was loving life again. After that everything just seemed to start falling into place Heavenly Father was always there for me and he was always helping me, I just couldn't see it. Now I am preparing to serve a mission and I couldn't be any happier! This is why I am a Mormon!

How I live my faith

As of right now my calling is in the Nursery. I absolutely love it! I love working with the kids, they keep you on your toes and are so much fun. I am a home teacher with my Aunt. We go to 3 different people in town and I love it. I love visiting with them and getting to know them, and their families.
