Hi I'm Andrew

I am a black belt. I am an Eagle Scout. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the fourth-born child in my family of nine kids. I was born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada. Currently, I am serving a mission. I have been called to serve in the Singapore Mission (which includes Malaysia), speaking Malay. After that, I will be attending BYU in the fall of 2017. I have always been a sports enthusiast. I have played volleyball and ran cross country, but my favorite sport is basketball. I love sports because they allow me to connect with friends and family all the while having a great time. I also play piano, trumpet, ukulele, and a little guitar. Music is very important to me and I hope to continue it all throughout my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints for multiple reasons. For one, my family is almost entirely members. It has been a great blessing to have them by my side as we all share similar beliefs and goals with the Gospel as our blueprint to a happy life. The Gospel of Jesus Christ teaches me to be more than a man. It teaches me to be a positive disciple of Christ at all times. I think that this lifestyle, which I live to the best of my ability, not only is appeasing to the person living it and is impressive to their peers, but I know that it pleases my Heavenly Father. By living the commandments and staying worthy of the companionship of the Holy Ghost, I know that I will earn the grace of God more fully, and ultimately receive the ultimate happiness by reuniting with my loved ones in the Celestial Kingdom someday.

How I live my faith

I have been very fortunate to have been born into the Church and I have been a member my whole life. I have had the wonderful opportunity to serve in a variety of capacities within my wards growing up. I have been on councils regarding youth activities, garden planning, missionary work, and leading the young men in the ward. These callings have given me the opportunity to grow, learn, and progress in the Gospel. I strive everyday to make choices in accordance with Heavenly Father's will and plan for me. This may be hard at times, but with the example of Jesus Christ, we cannot stray (and if we do, we can always return).
