Hi I'm Paul

I grew up in Oregon, USA. My wife and I have been married 41 years. We have six children and 24 grandchildren. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a father and grandfather. I like to spend time with my family. I love to sing and have been in musical plays, choirs, and small groups. I enjoy reading, playing golf, and fishing. I have been an inventor, a business man, a police officer, and a salesman. I love meeting new people and visiting new places. I have been to India, England, Canada, Denmark, Sweden, and Germany. I have enjoyed meeting the wonderful people in every place I have visited.

Why I am a Mormon

As a boy, I spent much of my early years going from religion to religion trying to find the truth. I had read the Bible completely by the time I was 12 years old. I had a great-grandfather who was a devout Christian man who encouraged my search. When I was 17 years old, Mormon Missionaries came to my home and gave me a copy of the Book of Mormon. At first I was very skeptical and did not believe the things they taught me; however, I read the Book of Mormon and while reading I had a wonderful feeling come over me that caused me to understand that this was truly a book of scripture. I prayed to ask if the Book of Mormon was the word of God and received an answer that it was. I was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and have been a member for over 47 years. In that time, I have seen the power of God in my life as I have been changed through living the teachings of the Church. My heart has been changed from being a selfish, self-centered person to one who loves others and does my very best to keep the Lord's commandments and to honor my promise to always remember Him. I have learned that the Lord knows me and loves me. For that I am most humbled and grateful. All the blessings and successes I have had in my life have come from my being a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving as a leader in our ward. This gives me the privilege of providing service to a congregation of almost 450 people. I visit their homes, teach the message of the Savior, share their joys and sorrows, and rejoice in serving the Lord, Jesus Christ. I have been able to teach children, youth, and adults. I also have been asked to watch over four families in our ward as a home teacher. In that role, I visit their homes each month to ensure all is well with them and to provide a spiritual message each month. They are very special to me and are my dear friends. I love to work side by side with other members in helping and serving our community.
